Registration for A Good Quilt Opens Today!...and closes Thursday at Midnight! →

March 29, 2021

What are your quilting goals? How do you overcome roadblocks that arise in your quilting? Do you google to find an answer? How long do you click around to find a video that will answer your questions?

Why do you quilt? Most likely you quilt so that you can share your quilts with those you love, or for personal fulfillment as a creative outlet.

How do you want to feel about the quilts you share with your friends and family? Did you know that this is part of the legacy you will leave? We all want to feel that our quilts are cherished and appreciated for their beauty as well as the love that is sewn into them.

Where are you on your quilting journey? It begins at the beginning, and my favorite quilting ‘Maxieism’ is “Start right, finish right!”. Look at the Stages of a Quilter, above, and find your place. It doesn’t really matter where you are, the important thing is that you are moving forward and that each quilt is a little better than the last!

Stage 1: Eager to learn quilting skills.

Stage 2. Encouraged by the skills you’ve learned that have moved you into a new realm of quilting.

Stage 3. Focused on expertise in your quilting skills.

Stage 4: Making quilts you are proud to share as part of your legacy with friends and family.

Stage 5: Sharing your work with the world, (quilt shows, publications, etc.)

A Good Quilt opens today, and I’d love for you to join us on this journey as we increase skills, accuracy, and efficiency, amid a group of the sweetest quilters you’ll ever meet from around the world. To learn more, visit http://www.agoodquit.com! But hurry! The doors close Thursday night, because we’ve got to get back to work in here!

Here’s what a couple of my members are saying:

“Maxie’s tutorials and instructions are simply amazing!. Her website of information is fantastic!. Maxie teaches techniques that I have always wanted to learn in quilting but never thought I could. I am so blessed to be on a wonderful quilting journey with this supportive group! ”
— Denise Mertz
“I could not be happier that I signed up for A Good Quilt. I have been enrolled for a short time and have seen my quilting change from being something that I ‘make work’ to quilt blocks and sewing that fit together beautifully because of the skill building techniques I am learning each time I log in. It is an endless treasure trove of concisely taught tips, techniques, charts, templates and lessons. I have never enjoyed quilting so much. ”
